Norwegian Cruise Ships

Norwegian Cruise ShipNorwegian Cruise Line's Freestyle Cruising concept pervades all ships, each equipped with multiple dining, relaxing, and entertainment options. Norwegian Cruise Line ships are divided into classes, with groups of vessels designed with similar features. Existing Norwegian ship classes include:

Sun Class

Sun Class ships include the Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun, which set sail in 1999 and 2001, respectively. Both ships feature 10 dining options, 11 bars and lounges, a spa, casino, pools, and multiple activities for children.

Leo Class

With a single ship, the Leo Class simply describes the Norwegian Spirit, which was originally known as the SuperStar Leo. First departing in 1998, the Norwegian Spirit since went through refurbishments in 2011. Travelers looking at Europe, a growing cruise market in which Norwegian has a large presence, have the Spirit as an option for a 12-night trip to the Mediterranean or nine nights to the Canary Islands.

Dawn Class

Offering spacious accommodations for families of all sizes and budgets, the Dawn Class includes the Norwegian Star, debuting in 2001, and Norwegian Dawn, which sailed the first time a year later. These ships are equipped with 14 dining options, 12 bars and lounges, a fitness center and spa, casino, and pools.

Jewel Class

The Jewel Class includes the largest number of Norwegian ships, which are visually characterized by representative hull art. Structurally, all ships in this class have Panamex dimensions – a must for efficiently crossing Panama Canal locks. These larger ships – the Norwegian Jewel, the Norwegian Pearl, the Norwegian Gem, and Norwegian Jade – provide 16 dining options and 13 venues, as well as a nightclub, casino, swimming pools, a spa, and options for children.

F3 Class

Norwegian SkyIncluding just the Norwegian Epic, the F3 Class was introduced in 2010. Encroaching on its competitors, the Norwegian Epic is the third-largest cruise ship in the world and the third generation of Norwegian's Freestyle Cruising vessels. In 2011, Travel Weekly named the Norwegian Epic the “Best Cruise Ship.”

Currently, this F3 Class ship makes trips to Europe and the Caribbean, offering world-class entertainment and accommodations. Features additionally include a fitness center, multiple dining choices, a sports court, climbing and rappelling walls, a water park, pools, a hot tub, and youth program.

Pride of America Class

The Pride of America is Norwegian Cruise Line's first and only U.S.-flagged cruise ship. The design onboard the Pride of America is an homage to the United States and is equipped with standard Norwegian features.

Breakaway Class

Norwegian's newest cruise ships introduced into the market in 2013 & 2014 are the Norwegian Breakaway & Getaway. These innovative ships offer multiple dining options, Broadway style shows that include Rock of Ages and Legally Blonde and the extremely popular Waterfront.
