Kamari beach
Kamari is the longest beach on Santorini, a long stretch of black pebbles and shingle with restaurants and bars lining the sand. It is a good place for a swim and a slow afternoon by the water.
About Kamari beach
Kamari sits on the east coast of Santorini, where a long beach runs from the foot of Mesa Vouno mountain toward Monolithos. The sand is black, but most of it is pebbles and shingle, which makes it the longest beach on the island.
A visit here is mostly about the beach itself, with tavernas and bars along the front and a seafood lunch by the water. Ancient Thera sits on the hill above the town, and a regular water taxi runs round the headland to the neighboring beach at Perissa.
- About 8 km from the capital Fira
- About 400m Mesa Vouno, the second highest peak
