Silver Spirit

Silversea’s newest ship, the Silver Spirit, launched for the first time in 2014. Following the Millennium Class, it sets yet another precedent for the luxury cruise line. Mainly, more rooms with balconies, a greater passenger capacity, and new dining options.

Silversea built this ship to accommodate 540 people, along with crew members. Part of this effort went beyond more rooms to the pool – now a resort-style area with whirlpools – and the spa, which offers 8,300 square feet for treatments, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Since it set sail, the Silver Spirit has been doing South American and Mediterranean itineraries.

Rooms

Room wise, the Silver Spirit sticks with the cruise line’s typical offerings – this time, with seven possibilities between the Vista Suites and Owner’s Suites. The rooms themselves, on the other hand, are bigger, ranging in size from 312 square feet to over 1,600 square feet.

As your voyage progresses, butler service is always available, while Silversea anticipates your company with a well-stocked refrigerator and mini-bar. Get ready for the morning or night with European bath products, a down duvet, pillows of your choice, fine linens, and the news. Binoculars, as well, let you see far into the distance from your balcony or window. In this ship’s case, 95 percent of all rooms come with private verandas.

Along with these aspects, rooms may feature a standard whirlpool bath or a full bathtub with a rainforest shower.

Dining

The Silver Spirit retains Silversea’s dining hallmarks: the elegant Restaurant, fine Italian cuisine at La Terrazza, and fine wines with sumptuous pairings at Le Champagne. Along with these more formal options is the Pool Bar and Grill, where you can grab lighter fare, like baked pizzas, and a cocktail, before finding a spot outside.

The Silver Spirit expands the possibilities even further with the Seishin Restaurant, where you can select from a menu of Asian fusion cuisine, and Stars Supper Club.

Along with all meals, grab a quality drink in the evening at the many bars and lounges – some offering stunning panoramic views and others more opportunities to socialize.

Entertainment

Larger pool and spa areas mean more opportunities for you to relax – either in the sun as you traipse across the globe or as you get a massage.

Of course, travelers can find an activity that matches their interest or intensity level. Browse through the designer brands, all at discounted prices, in the duty-free boutique, or check out media from the library. Take it up a notch in the casino by seeing just how far your lucky hand will go. Later, burn calories and increase your stamina – a must for intensive hikes and adventures in port – at the Fitness Centre.

Evenings expand socializing opportunities in the many lounges and bars, or they’re a chance to see a breathtaking performance in the Show Lounge venue. There’s no undesirable seat in the house as you watch a musical production, film, classical recital, or cultural entertainment.
