Oceania Insignia

Oceania’s acclaimed Insignia exudes warmth and character through rich furnishings, fabrics, and neo-classical architecture. The luxury cruise line strived to replicate Tuscan ambiance, through the design and dining choices, and the result blends traditional and contemporary aspects with high-quality materials, like teak, custom stones, and tiles, and a museum-quality art collection.

The Insignia debuted in 1998 and went through an upgrade in spring 2014. As a mid-sized vessel suited for 684 total guests, it travels a range of itineraries across the globe: Caribbean, Mediterranean, Australia and the South Pacific, Panama Canal, transatlantic voyages, and world cruises.

Staterooms

The Insignia’s staterooms start with three levels of Penthouse Suites, all offering 322 square feet and luxurious accommodations. The Vista Suites, the next level up, provide 786 square feet and similar accommodations.

The Owner’s Suite is the Insignia’s most elegant and luxurious living quarters. 1,000 square feet, complete with a private veranda and second bathroom, come outfitted with flat screen TVs, a laptop and iPad, cashmere blankets, a Bvlgari gift set, canapés, and fresh fruit and champagne. Along with the ship’s standard butler service, travelers in these cabins have the option of in-suite dining, priority shore excursion reservations, and shoe shining services.

Dining

The Insignia’s dining possibilities encompass meals in a choice of restaurants, several bars and lounges, afternoon tea, and room service.

The center of it all is the Grand Dining Room, with a stately, luxurious space designed with frescoes on the ceiling. Cruisers select meals from a menu of French-inspired continental dishes, all while dining with high-quality linens, china, and crystal.

The Insignia features several specialty restaurants, including:

Toscana: Authentic Tuscan dishes, passed down from family recipes, are whipped up by an Italian culinary staff. Sommeliers knowledgeable of wine production and the ship’s facility recommend pairings for each meal.

Polo Grill: With a classic look of dark furnishings and leather chairs, the Polo Grill is considered one of the finest steakhouses at sea.

Terrace Café: Stop by daily for the changing breakfast and lunch buffets. The restaurant’s informal, light-filled atmosphere is spread out over indoor and outdoor areas.

Waves: This spacious, shaded area is the perfect spot for picking up something quick and then lounging outdoors. A luncheon menu features burgers, barbecue, seafood, fries, several healthy side dishes, and gelatos.

Along with all standard and specialty restaurants, the Insignia’s many lounges offer opportunities for getting a martini, sipping cocktails, enjoying a whiskey or scotch, or savoring coffee or espresso with pastries.

Activities

Between ports or as you sail across the ocean, relax onboard the Insignia in the Canyon Ranch Spa Club, from the well-known family of health resorts. Indulgent wellness services and exercises encompass such rejuvenating treatments as acupuncture, body scrubs, tanning, skin care, body wraps, and Ayurveda.

Or if you’re looking to keep up your appearance at sea, head over to the salon. Professional stylists assist with coloring, hair design, makeup, manicures, and pedicures.

Keep on expanding your mind while at sea, too. The Insignia features an English-inspired library with more than 1,000 classic volumes, and Oceania@Sea, a 24-hour internet center.

During the day, soak or swim as you enjoy the surroundings in the Insignia’s large heated pool or three whirlpool spas. Afterwards, shop many duty-free goods in the ship’s boutique, head over to a wine tasting, or play a game with your fellow travelers in the card room.

The evening sees the ship come alive with a range of entertainment choices. Try out your good hand in the casino, or take in an intimate live jazz performance in the Ship Lounge. An orchestra, considered one of the best at sea, offers up an outdoor performance, while headliners, including magicians, comedians, and other entertainers put on a great show.
