As the second of Norwegian Cruise Line’s “Jewel-class” ships, the NCL Pearl (which was launched in 2006) introduced the first-ever bowling alleys at sea. This popular feature has since been included on each NCL ship that was built after the Pearl and it may just be a matter of time before other cruise lines begin to include bowling alleys as one of the many recreational activities available on their cruise ships.
The Norwegian Pearl also introduced cruisers to the “ultra-hip” Bliss Ultra Lounge with its ultra violet lighting, big-screen video monitors and “over-the-top” décor which includes canopied beds (…that’s right, beds…) for patrons who really want to “kick back and relax” while enjoying the hyper-active festivities each night.
For guests who prefer more traditional (“upright”) night-life, the Norwegian Pearl also features “Magnum Champagne and Wine Bar”, “Maltings Beer and Whiskey Bar”, “Pearl Club Casino Bar”, “Shakers Martini and Cocktail Bar”, the “Sky High Bar and Grill” and “Spinnaker Lounge” which offers some of the best live dance music at sea. Combine this with 13 great restaurants to choose from (some with a cover charge) and a wide variety of onboard activities, including many activities and specially designated areas for children…plus some pretty fabulous destinations…and you’ll see why the NCL Pearl may be the ship of choice for you.
Like all NCL “Jewel-class” ships, the NCL Pearl offers a wide variety of stateroom accommodations ranging in size from 143 square feet (with pricing that will satisfy even the tightest budget) to 3,355 square feet (for those with a bit more “discretionary dollars”). But, at 93,530 gross tons and 965 feet long by 105 feet wide, there’s plenty of room for everyone on the Norwegian Pearl. So, get onboard!
