Ship Spotlight
Celebrity Xcite is the next chapter in a ship series that redefined what premium cruising looks like at scale. Construction began at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in October 2025, and the ship is expected to enter service in 2028 — carrying roughly 3,260 passengers and building on eight years of Edge Series design refinements.
Much of Xcite's detail remains under wraps, but the foundation is clear: outward-facing architecture, strong dining, and an atmosphere that sits comfortably between mainstream and ultra-luxury. If you have enjoyed an Edge Series ship before, Xcite is the most current expression of that formula. If you have not, it may be the best place to start.
Many features carry over from the Edge Series blueprint, with select new additions confirmed for Xcite. Full specifications are expected in 2027.
The cantilevered platform that moves between decks, functioning as a bar, restaurant, and tender boarding station depending on its position.
Balcony cabins with a convertible indoor-outdoor design that opens to the sea at the press of a button.
A new Italian restaurant confirmed as exclusive to Xcite at launch, expanding the specialty dining rotation.
A three-storey venue that blends dining, performance, and lounge space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea.
An open-air space on the top deck with live music, lawn games, and a more relaxed alternative to the pool deck.
A suite-level enclave with a private sundeck, dedicated restaurant, and lounge exclusively for suite guests.
The Edge Series strikes a balance that suits couples who want elevated food and service without the rigidity of a traditional luxury line. Xcite will carry that forward with the newest spaces in the fleet.
If you have sailed Edge, Apex, or Beyond and want the same formula with fresh spaces and features like Trattoria Rossa, Xcite is the natural next booking.
Xcite will incorporate eight years of Edge Series learning. First-timers get the most current version of Celebrity's design language without needing to compare across the fleet.
Celebrity welcomes families, but the ship is not designed around children the way Royal Caribbean or Norwegian ships are. If robust kids' facilities are the priority, other lines deliver more.
Dining
Xcite adds Trattoria Rossa, a new Italian restaurant exclusive to this ship at launch. It joins an Edge Series specialty lineup that already includes Le Petit Chef, Fine Cut Steakhouse, and Raw on 5 across four main dining venues and multiple specialty options.
For passengers who treat dining as a central part of the cruise experience, each new Edge Series ship has raised the bar. Xcite's expanded rotation means more variety across a week-long sailing without repeating a restaurant.
On new Celebrity ships, popular specialty restaurants fill quickly. Book through the app as soon as your sailing opens.
Trattoria Rossa pricing and menu have not been published. Expect details closer to the 2028 launch.
Cabins
The Retreat is Celebrity's suite-tier enclave, offering a private sundeck, dedicated restaurant, and exclusive lounge. It has been a consistent highlight of every Edge Series ship, and Xcite will carry it forward with the most current design iteration.
For travellers weighing a standard balcony against a suite upgrade, The Retreat's private outdoor space and separate dining venue make the gap feel larger than just cabin size. It functions almost as a ship within the ship.
Even non-suite cabins on Edge Series ships feature the convertible indoor-outdoor veranda design.
Retreat suites typically cost significantly more than veranda cabins. Weigh whether the private amenities justify the difference for your trip.
The Edge Series feels designed for grown-ups who appreciate good aesthetics and a calmer pace. Families are welcome, but the energy is decidedly adult.
You get better dining, design, and service than mainstream lines, but fewer onboard thrills like waterparks or go-karts. The value is in refinement, not variety of activities.
Itineraries, pricing, and full deck plans are not yet published. Register interest early to access inaugural-season bookings when they open.
Xcite is the most refined version of a ship series that has consistently delivered premium cruising at scale — strong dining, modern design, and an atmosphere that feels more upmarket than its price tier suggests. The tradeoff is that much of the ship's detail remains unconfirmed, so booking will require patience until itineraries and pricing surface in 2027.
Celebrity Xcite is expected to launch in 2028. Itineraries and pricing have not yet been announced.
