Celebrity Xcite is the next chapter in a ship series that redefined what premium cruising looks like at scale. Construction began at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in October 2025, and the ship is expected to enter service in 2028 — carrying roughly 3,260 passengers and building on eight years of Edge Series design refinements.
Much of Xcite's detail remains under wraps, but the foundation is clear: outward-facing architecture, strong dining, and an atmosphere that sits comfortably between mainstream and ultra-luxury. The Retreat is Celebrity's suite-tier enclave, offering a private sundeck, dedicated restaurant, and exclusive lounge. It has been a consistent highlight of every Edge Series ship, and Xcite will carry it forward with the most current design iteration.
For travellers weighing a standard balcony against a suite upgrade, The Retreat's private outdoor space and separate dining venue make the gap feel larger than just cabin size. It functions almost as a ship within the ship.
