The “NEW” Oasis of the Seas
It doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago that the entire cruise industry was abuzz with excitement over Royal Caribbean’s evolutionary Oasis of the Seas! Back in 2008 the debut of Oasis of the Seas set a new capacity record of carrying over 6,000 passengers, as well as introducing a unique neighborhood concept; seven main themed areas providing guests with a variety of experiences.
However, it hard to remain revolutionary for long, so this fall the Oasis began her $165 million Royal Amplification dry-dock. Over a period of two months the ship got a BIG refurbishment including many new attractions coming from other Royal Caribbean ships.
Here’s what you can expect out on deck…
Ultimate Abyss: the tallest slide at sea
The Perfect Storm: a trio of waterslides
A reimagined, Caribbean pool deck
Portside BBQ: the cruise line’s first barbecue concept
And inside…
New kids and teens spaces.
Ultimate Panorama Suites: a beautiful new-to-Royal cabin category with sweeping views.
And entertainment-wise…
Spotlight Karaoke: a dedicated karaoke venue
Escape Room: a recreation of a Mission Control-type room circa 1972
Music Hall: a double-height space that first appeared on the line's Quantum-class vessels
Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade: it features a games arcade as well as multiple TV screens showing sports
Ready to book? The Oasis of the Seas will set sail on Nov. 24, 2019, beginning seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. The ship will then move to New York in May 2020, calling Cape Liberty her homeport and sailing seven nights to the Bahamas.
