Norwegian Cruise Line Offers Ferry to St. George's, Bermuda

June 1, 2017

Good news for all those cruising to  Bermuda on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship this year. Norwegian Cruise Line has just begun providing ferry service, exclusively for their guests, between Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard (where the NCL ships dock) and the quaint town of St. George’s.

The Dockyard area is a bit of a distance from tourist and resort areas including St. George’s and the capital city of Hamilton.  Residents and cruisers alike have complained about the crowded public transportation to access these areas as well as Bermuda beaches. Although taxis are lined up at the dock when the ships are in, they can be rather costly.

The well-preserved historic town and nearby fortress make St. George's and the East End of Bermuda a haven for British colonial architecture, history and culture. It seems logical that once cruisers have more accessible transportation options to St George’s, the influx of tourists will lead to additional shops and restaurants, (providing a boost to the St. George’s economy). Nearby, there are many unique natural attractions, including Clearwater Beach and the limestone formations of Tobacco Bay Beach.
