Overview
Serenade of the Seas is one of four Royal Caribbean Radiance-class ships. The design is sleek both inside and out giving the vessel a classy yet somewhat traditional ocean liner look. The ten-story glass-constructed Centrum with its glass elevators facing the sea is as breathtaking as the view itself.

Serenade of the Seas GolfAnother unrivaled view is the one you get by scaling the towering rock-climbing wall! Everyone from first-timers just looking to have fun to veteran climbers looking to push the threshold of their stamina will enjoy it. Afraid of heights? Golfers can tee off at the golf simulator or miniature golf course. There is a sports court where guests are welcome to shoot hoops, play some volleyball or join in a game of dodge ball. Those that have a set fitness routine will be pleased to find that the Serenade has a jogging track as well as a well equipped fitness center.

Serenade of the Seas SolariumWhen its time to relax, there is no better place then the day spa. Set in a comforting, peaceful environment, trained therapists specialize in massage, skin treatments, aromatherapy, nail care and more. The solarium is another lovely area in which to put your feet up. Closed to those under the age of 16, it’s a restful spot with a pool and hot tubs. The retractable roof keeps inclement weather at bay.

Serenade of the Seas PoolThe main pool area is always bursting with activity. Live music, dancing and crazy pool games are always on the schedule, but there are plenty of loungers away from the hub for guests that would rather bask in the sun with a good book. Adventure Beach is perfect for families.  The pool and water slide is child friendly and there’s seating so mom and dad can relax but still close enough to keep an eye on the kids.

Serenade of the Seas DiningThe Reflections Dining Room spans two decks and features a cascading waterfall. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “My Time Dining”, an open seating option is available to guests that want flexibility built into their dining times. Traditional main and late seating at dinner is also offered. The dining room on the Serenade, as well as all Royal Caribbean ships offers My Family Time Dining with expedited dining and Adventure Ocean pick-up service, to keep the whole family happy and satisfied during your meals. With this expedited dining service your kids (ages 3 to 11) will be served their meals within 40 minutes. When they’ve finished dinner, parents take their children to meet the Adventure Ocean Youth staff at the dining room entrance doors. The staff will escort the children directly to the Adventure Ocean facilities for scheduled evening activities. Then you can quickly return to your dining experience and enjoy a relaxing meal.

The Windjammer Café offers buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There is also a casual pizzeria for a delicious slice of pepperoni or cheese pizza fresh from the oven, as well as sandwiches and deli items. Café Latte-tudes, off the Centrum, serves specialty coffee drinks and pastries. The Seaview Café located on deck 12 aft is a great place to grab a light lunch or a late-night snack.

Serenade of the Seas PortofinoThere are two reservation-only restaurants aboard the Serenade.  Chops Grille is a traditional steakhouse with main entree choices that include Filet Mignon, a variety of cuts of steak, lamb chops, prime rib, and fish.  Portofino is Italian with a Tucson influence. Both are well worth the small surcharge.

There are numerous bars and lounges, many with live music, to visit before or after dinner. The Colony Club offers a place to play billiards, cards and games, plus lots of seating for lounging and enjoying cocktails and live music. There is a casino, a cinema and the beautiful Tropical Theater which features lavish production shows starring the Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers.

Consumer Review:From start to finish the organization and management of the cruise was excellent
Consumer Review:I hate the constant up-sell on things. They were a little to pushy about getting your photo taken everytime you left and returned to the ship.
Consumer Review:Re: Specialty restaurants: No place on your survey to differentiate between the two specialty restaurants. PORTOFINO- Food overcooked for each party at a table for four. Nothing special at this specialty restaurant. From year to year we have eaten at PORTIFINO we have seen it go down losing its charm. We have seen flaming deserts disappear (on a ship we understand this), tempenades disappeared, after dinner liquor disappeared, intermezzo (sorbet) disappeared and a very abreviated menu. Once again nothing special. CHOPS- Still worthy of specialty designation. Onion rings need some help they are not special and appeared to be of the frozen variety. Waitress FAREDE SALEH from Peru special and helped make this restaurant special. My brother and our wives eat out regularly and know what a specialty restaurant should be. When the dining room that is feeding thousands can do a better job than a specialty restaurnt there is something wrong! I HOPE YOU CAN GET THIS COMMENT TO ROYAL CARIBBEAN MANAGEMENT.
Consumer Review:The cruise was delightful. The staff, especially in the dinning room were EXCELLENT! If this is your first time to these ports, I recommend booking excusions with the cruse ship rather than trying to save money by sightseeing on your own. Beware of the taxi drivers, especially in St. Lucia. The entertainment, as always was great. There are many choices of music throughout the ship, something for everyone. RCI does a wonderful job making every effort to make your cruise vacation memorable.
Consumer Review:This was my 20th cruise and made me remember what I liked most about RCI. They have the very best, friendliest crew. The waiters, bar stewards, cabin crew, random crew you encounter, ALL go the extra mile to ensure a great cruising experience.
Consumer Review:We have just returned from our 8 night cruise on the Serenade of the Seas. We celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary at the first formal dinner May 9th, 2010. It was truly a memorable evening and cruise vacation. Our Balcony stateroom was cozy and very pleasant. Our stateroom attendant was terrific. The dining room staff also provided outstanding service. The food choices were outstanding. We will not soon forget how much we enjoyed this cruise. We honestly wished we could have extended the cruise another few weeks! We would recommend this cruise to anyone who is looking to experience a wonderful, memorable vacation. Thank you Direct Line Cruises and Royal Caribbean for making our 35th Wedding Anniversary such a memorable and wonderful occasion.
Consumer Review:We were not aware that we could have eaten in the main dinnning room on the first night, the day we sailed out.
