Silversea Discoverer

It’s not just a cruise – it’s an adventure to some of the world’s most remote corners. Silversea’s latest expedition ship entered the fleet in 2014, and with accommodations for 120 guests, it’s built to reach some of the world’s most far-off lands. View archipelagos and rarely seen shores from your room, the interior of the ship, or with a guided expedition once the boat docks.

Originally built as the Oceanic Grace in 1989, the Silver Discoverer is a yacht-style ship designed to navigate closer to shores. However, that doesn’t stop Silversea from exploring more isolated and underwater landscapes. As such, the ship is equipped with 12 Zodiacs and one glass-bottom boat.

Since entering the fleet, the Silver Discoverer has been providing unique, awe-inspiring perspectives of the Pacific Rim region, with itineraries to Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia, and Russia and East Asia.

Rooms

All ocean-view rooms ensure passengers get a great view of the destination, or wherever the ship is passing through. As well, common areas and decks, including the central Explorer Lounge, are designed with panoramic windows. See the surrounding landscape – of oceans or shores – as you relax in the interior, with a cocktail and live music.

The Silver Discoverer comes with five types of rooms:

• Medallion Suite – 408 square feet • Veranda Suite – 280 square feet • Vista Suite – 269 square feet • View Suite – 181 square feet • Explorer Suite – 186 square feet

Rooms have either a balcony or a window for viewing, and feature a mini-bar, bathroom amenities, down duvets, a radio/alarm with an iPod dock, bathrobes, flat screen television with on-demand movies, music and satellite news programming, and the daily news. Butler service is additionally available to attend to your needs.

Dining

Travelers have a choice of three options for meals on board the ship:

The Grill & Pool: Savor breakfast and lunch in a casual atmosphere during your journey. When there’s seafood or fresh cuts of meat, it becomes the Hot Rock, where meals are grilled on a heated volcanic plate.

The Restaurant: Enjoy contemporary and international cuisine, including dishes inspired by Relais & Chateaux.

The Discoverer Lounge: Buffet-style meals are served in a casual atmosphere.

Silversea keeps passengers prepared by offering backpacks and stainless steel bottles.
