Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas
Majesty of the Seas is one of the two remaining Sovereign-class ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet. Once the epitome of mega-ships, it now finds itself in the shadows of the floating city-ships of today. There is no doubt that the liners built over the last few years are chock full of revolutionary advancements, yet after an extensive renovation in 2007, her Majesty can still hold her head high, worthy of reverence.
The pool deck, part of the renovation project, has two pools with two large hot tubs between them. A sports deck area that plays host to basketball games, dodge ball and lots of other sports. There are also a couple of ping-pong tables. One deck higher is the jogging track and rock-climbing wall.
The fitness center has state of the art equipment, and offers many specialized fitness classes. The best part of exercising up there is the amazing sea views from the treadmills, bikes and ellipticals!
There are two main dining rooms onboard, the Starlight Dining Room and the Moonlight Dining Room. Breakfast and lunch are served as well as traditional main and late seating dining and Royal Caribbean’s open seating called “My Time Dining”
The Windjammer Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and a varied selection of Asian, Latin, Mediterranean and American dishes for dinner, in a relaxed and casual buffet atmosphere. There is always an extensive salad bar and dessert bar.
The Compass Deli on deck 12, has a lavish sandwich bar, daily soups, made-to-order salads, paninis, crepes and energy drinks. In the same area guests also can choose from Sorrento’s Italian pizzeria or Johnny Rockets offering guests their specialty hamburgers, onion rings and milk shakes. In the Centrum area you’ll find Café Latté-tude, serving Seattle’s Best Coffee beverages and in the adjoining Ben & Jerry’s ice cream parlor delicious frozen treats are available.
The Chorus Line Lounge features the incredibly talented Royal Caribbean singers and dancers as well as other live performances; sometimes magicians, comedians or musicians. If you’d like to sing along, then head to the Schooner Bar where there is a piano player almost every night.
Dance the night away at Boleros, a lounge featuring Latin music and mojitos. Or head up to the Viking Crown Lounge, perched on the topmost deck, for incomparable panoramic views and maybe a drink while watching the sunset. All in all, there are nine bars/lounges so finding one that suits your mood will be easy!
Casino Royale will be happy to take your deposits day or night. It has six blackjack tables, two roulette wheels, over 200 slot machines and various other tables in which to try your luck.
If you’re traveling with the family you’ll appreciate the award winning Royal Caribbean Adventure Ocean Club. Five separate age groups assure that your children will be engaged in age appropriate activities led by a highly trained college educated staff. Teens have their own special area and a dance club all their own.
The Majesty of the Seas sails year round out of Miami, Florida. Three and four-night Bahamas itineraries may include Key West, Florida, Nassau, Bahamas and the private island of Coco Cay.
