A cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas is like vacationing at five star family resort….that floats! Like her Freedom-class; Who would have thought it possible to surf, rock climb, or ice skate while at sea? Not to mention playing basketball, mini golf and checking out the fitness center, complete with full size boxing ring!sister ships, the Liberty has something for everyone.  In fact, there is so much to see, so much to do, so many places to eat, it’s impossible to do everything on a one-week cruise!

Those preferring a bit more relaxation will enjoy the spa (with special treatments designed for teens), soaking in the cantilevered whirlpools, or watching a first run movie under the stars on the giant outdoor screen.

Kids love the wet and wild H2O Zone where the water shoots from geysers, waterfalls, fountains and sculptures!

There are many wonderful dining options aboard Liberty of the Seas. The dining room is a three-story elegant banquet hall that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Other than traditional early and late set dining times guest can choose open seating called “My Time Dining”. For a change of pace or a special occasion guests may make a reservation to dine at Portofino or Chops Grille.  The dining experience at either place is well worth the small surcharge. Jade Restaurant serves Asian specialties and sushi.  Casual dining options include the Windjammer Café, Johnny Rockets 50’s style diner, Café Promenade, and Sorrento’s Pizzeria.  The Cupcake Cupboard will satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth.

Land resorts don’t come close to offering the entertainment that can be found on Liberty of the Seas.  Little cruisers will be excited by the presence of their favorite characters from Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. There are character breakfasts, meet and greets and even Dream Works first run movies in the 3-D theater. A whimsical puppet show will delight children and parents alike.

This show is perfect for the entire family and performed several times during the week.  Another not to be missed performance is “Saturday Night Fever: The Musical”.  Based on the 1970’s movie with John Travolta, the music will have the audience up and dancing in the aisles!

The Royal Promenade is home to lots of family friendly entertainment.  Vintages, a wine bar, is located there. The menu includes a range of options from some of the best wine-producing regions in the world. They also offer wine tastings and classes.  The Hoof and Claw is an English-style pub is in the same general area. In addition to a long list of imported beers and ales, it often features live music. The parades and dance parties held in the Promenade always draw a large crowd and are great fun.

There are many themed bars and lounges in which to stop by for a drink in the evening. Mojitos are the drink of choice at Boleros, a Latin-themed nighttime hot spot.  Those who can keep up with the live Latin music should feel free to step onto the dance floor! Guests that bop to the beat of a different drummer may find The Catacombs more to their liking. Romantics that dance cheek to cheek will find the opportunity in the Champagne Bar or Viking Crown Lounge.
