Overview
Enchantment of the Seas BridgeImagine taking a cruise ship, a very nice cruise ship that you could make even better, if only it were a bit longer.  What’s a cruise line to do?  What else….stretch it out!  And although the process was not nearly that simple, the end result was the same.  In 2005, in order to increase the size of Enchantment of the Seas, the ship was literally sliced in half, and a new midsection 73 feet long was added.

Enchantment of the Seas Pool

One of the most noticeable and appreciated changes to the Enchantment is the amazing pool deck.  The sports pool is perfect for swimming laps, water volleyball and other organizedactivities, and is flanked by two hot tubs.  Then there’s a family pool adjacent to a brightly colored kiddie splash pool and two additional hot tubs.  This is a wonderful set up for families, particularly those with young children.

If however, you are not traveling with any little ones, you can spend your days lounging in the adult only solarium. It has a pool, two hot tubs and a retractable crystal canopy to keep out the elements.

Enchantment of the Seas BungeeFor adrenaline junkies the Enchantment has something no other ship has…a bungee trampoline. The participant puts on a harness and is then hooked to several bungee ropes. Those ropes are attached to poles reaching high above the trampoline platform. As the participant jumps higher and higher the bungee ropes are moved up the poles allowing the participant to reach heights and do flips and other maneuvers that would otherwise be impossible on a regular trampoline.  And think of the views!

Of course there is the iconic Royal Caribbean rock climbing wall, jogging track, ping pong tables, fitness center and day spa. The Enchantment of the Seas has a video arcade called the “V-Deck” that is located on Deck 10 in the same area as Adventure Ocean kids club. The latest games such as Dance, Dance Revolution along with the classical games such as Ms. Pac Man are offered. Video game competitions are held.

Enchantment of the Seas Dining RoomThe two tier My Fair Lady dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Guests may choose from traditional early seating, traditional late seating, or the open dining concept called My Time Dining.

The Windjammer Cafe is open breakfast through dinner and late at night for snacks. Breakfast ranges from continental to full buffet. Later in the day your choices include soups, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, hot entrees, grilled meats, and desserts. From 6pm to 9pm, Asian cuisine is served at the Jade Restaurant located in a separate area of the Windjammer. Thai, Malaysian, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, and Indian fare are among the menu choices.

Enchantment of the Seas ChopsChops Grille charges a nominal fee but it is well worth it, as it is comparable to some of the best land based steakhouses! Café Latte-tudes serves Seattle’s Best coffee including lattes, cappuccinos, espressos and other specialty coffee drinks while Ben And Jerry’s has your favorite flavors served in sundaes, shakes, smoothies and fresh-made waffle cones.

The Palladium Theater features the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers as well as a variety of other live entertainment.  The weekly “headliner” performance is always something to look forward to. All shows are family friendly, with magicians and jugglers receiving high marks from the youngest cruisers.

Enchantment of the Seas CasinoThere are eight bars and lounges onboard including Boleros (Latin lounge), the Champagne Bar (elegant spot often with a musician playing soft music), Schooner Bar (check out the piano player), the Carousel Lounge (for dancing) and Viking Crown Lounge (best at sunset). The Casino Royale has slots, blackjack, craps, roulette, three card poker, Caribbean stud, & Texas hold’em. The casino typically operates any time the ship is in international waters. The casino staff is always willing to answer your questions if you are trying to learn a new game.

The Enchantment of the Seas sails year-round from Baltimore Maryland.  Itineraries include the Caribbean, Bermuda, Florida / Bahamas, and Canada / New England.

Consumer Review:A great cruise. The last sailing day the waters were really rough due to storm in area, but other than that it was great. Everything was done according to schedule and done professionally. I definitely recommend this cruise.
Consumer Review:All computers went down during embarkation. All of the RCL representatives then had to HAND WRITE all of the information from each passenger and then retype all the information back into the computers once power was restored to the computer system. Not RCL fault. Food service in the main dining room was subpar, long story attached. The quality of food was also subpar, compared to our other cruises on RCL. Actually, we found the food in the Windjammer much more appetizing and the service was much better. On our next cruise my wife and I agreed that we would eat all our meals in the Windjammer and skip the main dining room. Save the tip monies to those who deserve it. We originally asked for a small table for four when booking as it was a family gathering. We were placed at a large table which was acceptable, however other family of four made it very very clear that we were an imposition. They occupied five seats and did not want to move over one seat. They then glared at us and never spoke a work the entire evening. Next night we were told that the other family needed to change tables to an early seating. WRONG! We saw then at the same meal in other seating. There was and empty table near the waiters service station and we offered to move to that table to be more convenient to the waiters, as there was only four of us seated at a large table. The two couples that were seated at that table, did not approve of their seating either, so they requested a change as well. You cannot satisfy all the people all the time, but courtesy is another thing. Something was going on behind the scenes. Our head waiter was always hurried and quick, no connection between he and his assistant. We got to know the assistant waiter at the Windjammer, who turned out to be very friendly. We loved our stateroom as we were placed in the "NEW" added portion of the ship with added amenities. Our stateroom attendant Dennis Little was suburb. Really got to know and like him very much. He liked us as well, since we always make up our own room each day and did not require daily changes of towels and linen. He makes a great elephant.
Consumer Review:CHOPPES GRILLE FOOID WAS EXCELLENT. EDWIN AND EDWARD WERE WONDERFUL WAITERS TABLE 11 LATE DINING PN ENCHANTMENT OF THE SEAS. SHOWS WERE EXCELLENT. ENTIRE SHIP STAFF WAS WONDERFUL. HAD A BALL PLAYING THE QUEST GAME.
Consumer Review:due to the swine flu outbreak, our scheduled port of call on Cozumel was cancelled, many guests felt that they should have either changed it to another port of call (the paper mentioned other cruise lines did this) and/or offer additional perks/freebies on the ship due to this disappointment.
Consumer Review:Embarkation was fantastic. Disembarkation was not so well managed and somewhat chaotic. This was the Canada / New England cruise out of Baltimore MD. Portland ME was the least interesting of the ports of call and they seemed the least interested in having us visit. Halifax Nova Scotia was great. Boston was also great but our time there was too short (8a-230p)
Consumer Review:Enchantment of the Sea was ok but we had some problems with staff at pool. Our grandsons 16yrs. old was just jumping in with no one near the pool. The staff told them not to dive in the pool. I told him sir they are jumping not diving and he said they were not allowed to do this. Activities is lousy on this ship and we want everyone to know this was the worst ship we have taken. No water available some times unless you want to buy it. Always selling mix drinks and sodas. We will never take this ship again. We have been on the Carnival and the norwegian and we loved them. They do alot for you and have a lot of activities. Out of Baltimore was very nice.
Consumer Review:Enchantment of the Seas is a smaller boat with not as much activities to do as the Explorer of the Seas. The food was wonderful and the service was superior. Our waiter Saul was funny and very accommodating. A few nights there was entertainment after the main show but most nights there was not. We hit a lot of rough seas due to hurricane Earl and many people got ill. Housekeeping had a hard time keeping up with cleaning up the mess left in the hallways on the floors or in the bathrooms. Elevators were slow and difficult to come by. We traveled with a person in a wheelchair so it made if difficult at times. We had waited for almost 10 minutes at one time and finally got one and then 2 RC workers came up and grabbed the elevator with a large piece of equipment. I said we had been waiting and one of them said "too bad" and shut the door. Not good! All and all we had a great time and would love to try a bigger RC ship.
Consumer Review:Enchantment of the Seas on Royal Caribbean was an absolute joy! My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary while on-board and had the time of our lives. Great service while on-board and in Bermuda! We highly recommend Direct Line Cruises for booking a fantastic cruise.
Consumer Review:Every aspect was was we expected . . . and more! The trip was great from beginning to end. We had wonderful service, a great cruise director, sharp captain and good attention. We would have liked the ship to be more attentive to use of the hand sanitizers but we were careful to use them often. Entertainment was good to excellent. Food was decent and ample. Our on-board schedule was too busy to eat much in the dining room. We would appreciate Norwegian's approach to dining, as you want to do it. That said, we never missed a meal! Ports were fun and clean. No high pressure for buying, just had a really good time. We would certainly plan our next cruise with Royal Caribbean and will use Cruise Direct to book it.
Consumer Review:great cruis.lots of fun.babysitter service was great! i wish they had more yoga and pilates classes! great service, lots of smile from all service people! me and my 5 years ols daughter had a blast!!
Consumer Review:Great cruise!!. Although the ports were limited, Royal Carribean made up for it in the entertainment and service. Really great energy from all the entertainers and crew!! One big celebration (even had a huge super bowl party-with 2300 of our friends)! Highly recommend it.
Consumer Review:Great no hassle get away. Little qwirks nothings perfect. Can't beat an instant vacation right at your back door
Consumer Review:Great ship. Good service with insurance included. Much information about the cruise and the cruise line came for us. I will be back to Direct Cruises and appreciate the personal service.
Consumer Review:had a problem with an excursion BUT both the shore team and ship overcame those problem and made special arragments so that all worked out just peachy !
Consumer Review:I AM SOOOOOO READY TO BOOK MY NEXT!!!!!
Consumer Review:I believe we were just extremely lucky to have found R.C. Cruise Lines without knowing anything about this industry. This is obviously an outstanding company. They are on top of every situation. The ship is impeccable and incredible.
Consumer Review:I booked excursions but they were cancelled due to weather. The food was much less quality wise than any of my previous cruises. I was disappointed with the main dining accomodations overall and would not take this ship again. I have never seen chili or tacos as an entree on a cruise line before and did not expect a cruise line with the reputation of Royal Caribbean to have it anywhere except the buffet table. The buffet table had nothing but reheated items, no grill area, no fresh pasta bar, etc. During the day the buffet was the only place open and it was often crowded with a lack of seating.
Consumer Review:I wanted to let you know that I experienced an awesome vacation. I booked this cruise at the last minute; one week before sail date while I was having a heart attack going about my lack of planning you guys apparently were not. You provided quick carefree service Thank You!!!! it made my adventure even more enjoyable. I consider myself new to cruiseing because it has been 20 years since my first one and what a different animal it is today. Enchanment of the Seas provided so many different activities to experience not one bored moment; actually I needed a few quite time breaks to regroup, recharge and continue the party. I went solo and felt comfortable throughout my whole shipboard exprience. The shows where spectacular and they created a different high energy atomsphere everynight. The themed parties and different lounges made party hopping a blast. I also enjoyed many moments sitting out on the deck watching the ocean go by. The solarium was an excellent place to relax enjoy the pool with no young children splashing about an to enjoy some comfort food favorites pizza, burgers, sandwiches and cookies. I did visit the main dinning room often an was pleased with the service not everyday the waiter pulls your chair out for you, places the napkin in your lap, and cuts the meat off the bone for you. Captian Gus Anderson was a pleasure to meet I could see he really enjoys interacting with the guests we enjoyed watching his cake decorating contest and taking the time to take pictures with the couples that participated in the group vow renewal to celebrate the Royal Wedding. Cococay was my absolute favorite port of call !!!! Having the freedom to roam about play in clear blue water laze around on a lounge chair was fabulous!!!!
Consumer Review:I was very pleased with the ease of embarking and disembarking. Our stateroom was kept up satisfactorily, but we were always shorted on towels, washcloths and extra pillows, we also didn't even know there was a breakfast room service menu for the first few days of our trip. The food was in short supply on this cruise compared to others we have been on and some of the food looked as if it should have been changed out ,it did not look fresh. The ice cream machines which are usually open 24/7 were closed at around 6 P.M. each evening and you were hard put to find food after midnite. There was also an extra charge if you ordered from room service after 12 in the evening or before 6 in the AM. Altogether the things that were going on around the ship were not publicized enough that everyone knew what, when and where things were happening. In my opinion there was a breakdown in communications because a lot of times when we asked a question it was answered with either an" I don't know" or a blank stare. Our shore excursion was booked at home before we got on the ship but when we got to the ship we found that they had changed the time for it and they even argued with us that it was our mistake until we brought out our receipt and showed them, then we were very cooly refunded our money without any apology or explanation.
Consumer Review:I went to Bermuda from Baltimore because of convenience for a disabled companion. I've been to Bermuda 7 times & one day is not enough. I would suggest the summit from Bayonne to have more time. Bermuda is wonderful!! The Enchantment was very nice & service was wonderful.
Consumer Review:I would like to suggest that Royal Caribbean have a 12 day Caribbean cruise out of Baltimore that included the following ports: St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Marteen, St. Croix and St. John. (This is a cruise Similar to the one offered by Celebrity Mercury in 2009.)
Consumer Review:Is a cruise that we would recommend to any and all. Good time, good food, good service.
Consumer Review:Labadee was a long long walk to the beach. Samana was terrible. We were hassled from the moment we stepped off the tender. We will not go ashore there again. This needs feeding back to the cruise line.
Consumer Review:love Key West. Have been there now 3 times. Just wish we could stay longer. I understand that the cruise ships need to be gone before the sundown party so, couldn't they tender us into Key West instead of docking.................just wondering
Consumer Review:Loved the ship, and Captain Rob is the funniest Captain I have ever met. First Class all the way.
