Adventure of the Seas is one of five Royal Caribbean Voyager-class ships, chock full of amenities not found on any class of ship built before it. The design of the Royal Promenade, a four-story mall the length of a football field, was a radical idea. Having inside cabins with windows that overlook the Promenade was down right revolutionary!
People looking for active days and nights love Adventure of the Seas! There’s rock climbing, inline skating, ice skating, basketball, volleyball, dodge ball, mini golf, jogging, and swimming. People looking for rest and relaxation love Adventure of the Seas! They can take it nice and easy at the day spa, solarium, cinema, library, BINGO, hot tub, or lounge chair by the pool.
Kids love Adventure of the Seas! They have their own pool complex, Adventure Beach, and their own children’s program, Adventure Ocean. With five different age groups children are always involved in appropriate activities that are geared to their interests and abilities. Counselors are warm and energetic and hold a four-year degree in education, recreation, or a related field.
A good meal is never more than a couple of decks up or a couple of decks down! A multi-tier dining room, each level named after a famous classical music composer, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Royal Caribbean offers guests traditional early and late dinner seating, as well as My Time open seating. The Italian restaurant, Portofino, is open nightly. There is a surcharge and reservations are suggested.
For casual dining, the Windjammer Cafe is open breakfast through dinner. Breakfast ranges from continental to full buffet. Later in the day your choices include soups, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, hot entrees, grilled meats, and desserts. Johnny Rockets, a 50’s style diner is open for lunch and dinner. Don’t miss the chocolate malts! In addition, the Café Promenade has pizza, sandwiches and pastries practically round-the-clock. Soft-serve yogurt is complimentary 24/7 and Ben & Jerry’s is sold in the Promenade.
There is live music and dancing at several different lounges each night. The Viking Crown Lounge, perched at the top of the ship is the best place for a pre-dinner drink, especially at sunset. The Schooner Bar always has a piano player and singing along is always encouraged. The Duck and Dog Pub on the Promenade is also a lot of fun. Two spots mellow enough to enjoy quiet conversation are the Champagne Bar and the Aquarium Bar. Jesters, a dance club, is open until the wee hours.
The Casino Royale features an array of world-class casino table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker, as well as dozens of unique slot machine games to choose from. There are onboard lessons for novice players and tournaments for the more advanced.
The talented Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers put on shows in the Lyric Theater that rivals Broadway. Last but certainly not least, be sure to catch the ice show. Watching these world-class skaters will take your breath away!
Adventure of the Seas itineraries include the Mediterranean and Southern Caribbean.
