Consumer Review:Although the Carnival Valor was not my favorite of the 5 Carnival ships I've sailed on, I had a great time. I'm am never disappointed with Carnival and will continue to enjoy them in the future.
Consumer Review:the children's program is excellent. the cuisine was divine and the stateroom staff was excellent. Some of the ports could have been better. Belize left alot to be desired. It a very poor country and there was a lot of begging.
Consumer Review:There are many reasons why Carnival remains one of the highest rated cruise lines in the world. Having cruised on many (including Carnival) at various times in my life, I must say that while we had a wonderful time, the cruiseline needs to make some minor adjustments in important areas that will make a huge difference for future sailings. From a family perspective, what was amazing was the helpfulness of excursion staff, our dining staff (all people), and cabin staff. There was no "forcefulness" on the part of entertainment staff to get involved in activities and there seemed to be enough going on for all. The Camp Carnival Staff are the most amazing peolle with the best program. Our child wanted to go and remain there even when we wanted him to stay with us (we won that battle!) Areas in need of improvement include, timely and relevant info (on the last two days, cabin tv info still showed day one ship videos and no debarkation info until we were already in port to get off the ship). Time ment nothing as everything from the mandatory muster drills to leaving each port was dalayed by over an hour. Lots of time was lost each day in these cases (except for the two days at sea). If you didnt go to a show you rarely saw the cruise director (Big Tex). Poolside and most music (except main lounge and main showroom) was hard to listen to. The poolside theater didnt show the most approptiate family movies for a huge public area and during the day ran an awful video with the same horrible audio track of 70's and 80's music where the video was mostly of a car driving roads throughout the country at fast speeds (subliminal message to go home?). There are many more things to tweek and I will be sure to let the main office know but keep in mind that aftere some rough patches on day one, along with the funny reminder amongst my group that the fun ship was also (at times) the "dumb ship" we were able to laugh at most of the things that made us wonder why something was done the way it was (i.e. poor to no directions around the ship in a user friendly way other than a tiny and hard to read pocket map. very useful after leaving it in your pocket in the pool.) We would go on Carnival again but just have slightly lower expectations for many of the things that a new cruiser may need. PS if you are families with older kids (who can go off on their own) or single / couple without kids you are going to love everything about it (especially if you love to drink because the bar staff does not leave you alone)
Consumer Review:We would not go to Belize again. Very few of our fellow passengers cared for it. All of the other ports of call were terrific. The food was very, very good but it had been clearly downgraded from the way it used to be. I understand Carnival has new management and has had to do a lot of cuts.... clearly a sign of the times.... That said we had a tremendous time and would recommend it highly to anyone considering their next cruise.
Consumer Review:We would not sail on Carnival Cruise Line again. We have never seen so many drunk people or stoned people. This ship is geared to the 20s and 30s age group, though we were told before we booked that the ship was no longer considered a party ship, that they were changing their image to enclude all ages. I don't know about the other parts of the ship but on both sides of our state room the people partied till 4:00 am - 5:00 am every night. We tried banging on the walls and yelling at them out on our balcony but it didn't do any good. From now on we will sail on other ships that we enjoy more.
