Consumer Review:Although my experience with Direct Line Cruises was great, my cruise with Carnival was not. It was crowded and disorganized. I will probably not go on a cruise with Carnival again.

Consumer Review:Carnival Fantasy was a nice cruise and our family thoroughly the Bahamas. The only drawback of the ship is that it has limited space on the top deck for the pool area. Pool is very small when you have over 2000 guests onbaord. But other than that, we really liked everything! The shows were great!

Consumer Review:Convenient to leave from Charleston, but the smaller ship size was limiting. The pool area was very small, crowded and loud. With three days at sea we were grateful to have a balcony room!!!

Consumer Review:Did not seem to be much to do in Freeport so we shopped at the stands next to the ship and then relaxed on board. Overall, the cruise was great, the kids had a great time and I would recommend Direct Line Cruises to anyone who is even condsidering taking a cruise.

Consumer Review:Embarkation was a nightmare in Charleston. It took 3 hours to wait in line to park, wait in a hot warehouse with no ventilation and to finally get aboard the boat. Disembarkation was much faster and nicer only taking roughly 10 minutes. I was not impressed with the overall cruise itself. There was one small pool (roughly 20ft long and 10 ft wide) for 2600 people. We could not use the pool as it was constantly bombarded with kids splashing as they jumped in. We spent most of our time in the Serenity Adults only area - it would have been nice to have a small pool there as well instead of two hot tubs only. Our room was next to the housekeeping closet. We were awakened every morning at 6am to banging doors and carts. One room on our floor was being refurbished and the work began as early as 6:30am. There was also the acrid smell of grinding metal. Why this work could not be done during the day or while the guests were in port is beyond me. We got very little sleep because of this. The Carnival website was no explicit when it came to dress code. I scanned the website to ensure we would NOT need pants for my husband. Because we did not bring slacks, we were turned away from the captain's dinner, quite rudely by the maitre d and were not informed of the option to rent proper attire on the ship. I really appreciated the attentiveness of the wait staff in the Jubilee dining room, early seating, table 387. Perfibiju and Francisco Jr. were wonderful to us. They should be commended. Since it was our honeymoon and the reservation said so, I would have appreciated even a simple note on our bed saying Congratulations or something that made us feel special. I was also disappointed to find out that even though we booked our room 3 weeks early and were told the only room left had bunk beds, we met a couple who booked their cruise a mere two days prior and got a full stateroom with one large bed.

Consumer Review:Embarkation was done fairly well, however disembarkation left a little to be desired. It appeared like... the cruise is over once they started calling numbers to start deboarding. I heard comments like "this is no longer the fun ship." Simple improvements can ease the process and make it more palatable. The parking arrangements were superb.

Consumer Review:Everything was great, except the cancellation to Nassau Bahamas because of a illness of a crew member. We had to change course and take him to Port Canaveral which is understanding, The biggest issue here was we received .68 cents back port fees which just felt like a slap in the face for some 2000 passengers who were so looking forward to this trip. A discount on a future cruise or a voucher would have helped everyones disappointment. The room was better then we anticipated, service was great, food was good and plenty of activities to keep us busy. Had a great time..

Consumer Review:Handled certainly with great ease very simple process would definitely do it again

Consumer Review:I found that booking excursions off the boat was less expensive than booking through the cruise ship. Example, Pairasailing in Key West through the ship was $80 and on the island $45.
|
Consumer Review:I had a blast! I felt completely like a VIP the entire time and am totally spoiled for anything smaller than the balcony suite.
|
Consumer Review:I thought the ship looked worn and their was nothing special such as ice and fruit cravings on the buffets. It was more of a party ship than a relaxing one.

Consumer Review:I want to take this opportunity to comment on the Charleston Port. Charleston was the most organized, stress free and courteous port I have ever gone out of, or come back to. All ports could learn the right way of doing things from them. I hope in the future they will offer more destinations from the Charleston Port.

Consumer Review:It was all Saints Cruise ("Fantasy" ) ; But Destiny showed his face. "Believe Dat". Staff, Crew, Waiters, Stewards, kitchen, Cooks all top notch. Passengers we encountered; friendly as could be, " Super Bowl was unimagineable!!!!!!. Three things I would change if possible. 1) The Beds were super Firm= I would prefer softer! 2) would not change ; as we have never used credit card in another country; Did not know their was a foriegn transaction fee ? ; would have been nice to know it exisited, Thankful it is a minimal charge. 3) Paid $51.00 Dollars for a Dozen Beautiful Red Roses for 25TH Anniversary; Wife was Heart Broken we could not take off the ship; I did get to keep empty Champagne Bottle!!!!!! Again did not know the Roses had to stay on board? Would have been nice to know!!!!!!

Consumer Review:Our children enjoyed this, their first cruise, immensely. One is convinced this will be what her honeymoon trip will be! My husband and I were not so impressed because of the constant party atmosphere. For instance, they had a mock casino night for the youth program. We are not gamblers nor drinkers. We understand that is a large source of revenue on a cruise ship. We have decided we would probably not do a Carnival "Fun Ship" again because it's focus is further from what we are looking for in a cruise. That said, the people were wonderful to us and we did have a delightful time. My husband LOVES a cruise more than anything.

Consumer Review:Port of Charleston couldn't have been easier! drive in park your car in enclosed building, bus to ship, Perfect!

Consumer Review:Staff was very helpful, especially our house keeping staff. Food was good, but not excellent. Items on the dining room menu never seemed to live up to their description. The cafeteria style food was good, and the omelettes and Mongolian Barbecue was fresh made and very good. Sandwiches and pizza were very good and available at all times. The crew made an effort to keep the ship clean but food trays, empty glasses, and spilled or dropped food were a constant problem. Finding a place to sit on lounge chairs was difficult because people would leave towels on chairs and walk away. Even with these issues the crew was helpful and constantly circulating for drinks and cleaning. The decks were relaxing and the sea views were beautiful. The public spaces inside were very nice. There was always a seat with a beautiful view of the sea. Due to a medical emergency our cruise had to skip a port of call. We can't fault anyone for this but it was disappointing. We will cruise again, even on this ship. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Consumer Review:The Food and the entertainment was not as good as past cruises , everone we sat with did not enjoy the food in the dinningroom, It was not up to par ,
|
Consumer Review:The food, staff and service was outstanding on Carnival. If you had any questions, during the cruise, just ask and they would find the answer for you. If you needed anything, they were there. Outstanding job! The port in Charleston was outstanding with the speed and ease.

Consumer Review:The staff on the Carnival Fantasy were ALL so friendly!! It was our first cruise - but after this experience, it definately won't be our last!!
|
Consumer Review:This cruise was more appropriate for younger persons. The crew was wonderful and the ship was immaculate and food was good. The entertainment was directed more to younger passengers. The biggest fault was that smoking was allowed in all the bars where there was music. Even walking by the smell of cigarette smoke was very evident. It was very nice otherwise. Thanks. Consumer Review:This is my first cruise and will not be my last. Carnival was an excellent choice and I am 100% satisfied. The crew members were very helpful and friendly. Celebration Dining room servers, foo preparers, etc were excellent. Keep up the great Customer friendly service. Our Stateroom Steward, Garry, fantastic. An excellent job. Stateroom was always clean and fresh. The very very newest Golf Pro John who just got on the Ship did an excellent job for his first day. Gave a few helpful pointers, easy to talk with, very customer friendly. An Risa Barnes, Cruise Director, Home Girl was great. I am from Sumter, South Carolina and owned a Quiznos Restaurant in West Columbia, SC and met her one time. She may not remember me, but I hope she remembered the great Quiznos meal she recieved. Overall, a great 5 day cruise, looking forward to another maybe next year. Would love to see Carnival lists other area port of call out of the Charleston, SC Terminal. Charlie J McBride M217

Consumer Review:This is our 5th cruise. We were delighted with going out of Charleston, SC, because it is closer than Florida and a beautiful historical place to visit. Our room steward was always furnishing us with fresh towels and our cabin was spotless. We took the catamaran snorkeling shore excursion in Nassua and it was wonderful. A fun inexpensive cruise!

Consumer Review:This trip was for our 30th anniversary, and for that it was wonderful. The head waiter in the Celebration Dining Room, I Madi (sp), and his staff, were supperb. We do, however, have 3 complaints. We were under the galley and every night the pot and pan cleaning was annoying to the point of waking us out of our sleep. There was also a pounding that would wake us. Could have been a loose door or connection on a lifeboat nearby. We were glad to hear that the ship was due to be refurbished at the end of November. But the preliminaries; aweful, deafening pounding that took place, for eternity, in an assigned area, while the passengers were waiting to disembark, made it impossible to hear the cruise director's instruction over the PA system. Zone disembarkation, is fine, only when you can hear your Zone number. These are not the memories that Carnival wants their passengers to take home.

Consumer Review:This trip was given to me by three of my dearest friends to celebrate my 70th birthday. It lived up to all of my expectations to the fullest. I had a marvelous time!
